RHODE ISLAND MAGIC BASKETBALL NEWS

We had a very exciting first day of tryouts for 3rd-8th grade! With almost 150 kids in the gym and over 15 of the most talented coaches in the state, it was our biggest  tryout in history! Want to join the Magic family and see why we are the fastest growing AAU program in the region? It's not too late-register under the Spring 2018 link for tryouts and come on Thursday!

Hope everyone is having a great winter. Although AAU is "off" during the winter, the Rhode Island Magic have been extremely busy improving the program. We have:

1. Added a section to our website that details the college recruiting process. Playing basketball in college is complicated and the information on the website helps simplify a long and challenging process. Twelve separate links cover topics such as recruiting responsibilities, FAQ, how to make a highlight video, communicating with college coaches, breaks down every post high school basketball option, from Division I, NAIA and Junior Colleges and much, much more. That portion of the website is only for RI Magic members who have been in the program within the last year and an email was sent to those parents with login information.

2. Created and started releasing mixtapes for players that were part of teams that played in July last year, which were 8th, 9th and 10th White plus some additional players from other teams, if we had enough game footage. We will be releasing those videos once a day on our social media, as well as adding those mixtapes to our website as well under the Magic Mixtapes link. Please add us on all three social media platforms, which are on the top of this page, and check back daily to see which mixtape was released.

3. Our tryout information is finalized and you can register now on the Spring 2018 link on the left. Registering helps save you time at tryouts and also helps us anticipate the number of teams we will have this spring, which will no doubt be our biggest season ever! If you have any questions, do not hesitate to email the director, David Tedeschi at daat27@verizon.net.

We are excited to get started with our spring season and look forward to seeing everyone next month at tryouts.
